bad therapy

Hey ,

Ever felt like therapy was just one big waste of time?

Yeah…me too.

Imagine this…you go to therapy every week, spill your guts out, and leave feeling…well, still stuck.

What’s up with that?

Okay...Okay...so before you say anything, let me get this out of the way.

Not all therapists are bad.

There are good ones, and there are bad ones...I’ve just experienced many more bad than good.

And even when you find a good therapist I would still recommend looking at therapy as a SUPPLEMENT not the “main thing”.

If you’re serious about your healing, then this email may be the most important thing you read all year.

I’m going to open your eyes to some things that you probably never thought about before.

Are you ready for it?

Here’s the glaring “smack you in the face” reality…

Most of the people I’ve coached and worked with said that…

Therapy didn’t work for them.

This problem nagged and nagged at me for SO long…

But, I figured out why...

Here are 4 reasons why therapy fails so many people:

1. People go into it with a dependent state of mind:

Most people walk into therapy expecting the therapist to solve all their problems...so the client then releases all responsibility. The problem here is that in order to heal from PTSD you need to take FULL responsibility for your life...no excuses...no putting the responsibility on some therapist, doctor, or medication.

2. Many therapists actually believe recovery is IMPOSSIBLE:

This is a heartbreaking truth...I’ve heard it many times myself and dozens and dozens of others have told me their therapist has told them it was impossible. If they don’t believe recovery is possible, how do you expect them to help you?!

3. Many therapists only study theory and don’t know what it’s like:

When you only study theory without the practical application of that theory you tend to think deeply, but not clearly.

One of my favorite quotes from Nikola Tesla goes like this…

“The scientists of today think deeply instead of clearly. One must be sane to think clearly, but one can think deeply and be quite insane.”

It’s my observation that many therapists suffer from “thinking too deeply” and therefore “being quite insane” lol

4. Very little time is spent healing:

How much time do you REALLY spend on healing when you go to therapy? First of all, you probably only go once a week for a 50-minute session...you probably chit-chat for 10-20 minutes and maybe...MAYBE...get 30 minutes of actually healing work in.

And this is all assuming that you’re working with a competent therapist who is using the right type of therapy...otherwise, that 30 minutes would just be wasted anyways.

Are you shocked?

So if therapy isn’t working for you, what do you do?

Is there any hope?

OF COURSE.

The solution is simple...so simple that it’s practically glaring you in the face!

What if you started doing this...

Instead of being reliant on therapists, doctors, and medication...you started learning tools that you could use on your own to heal.

Here’s what you can do:

  1. Take Ownership: Realize that your healing journey is YOUR responsibility. Not your therapist’s, not your doctor’s…yours. This is empowering. You have the power to change your life.

  2. Educate Yourself: There are so many resources out there…books, podcasts, online courses. Learn about PTSD, learn about healing techniques. Knowledge is power. Our book is a great start.

  3. Practice Daily: Healing isn’t a once-a-week thing. It’s an everyday thing. Meditate, journal, exercise…whatever helps you process and release your trauma. Make it a daily habit.

  4. Find Community: You’re not alone. Join support groups, connect with others who are on the same journey. Share your experiences, learn from theirs. There’s strength in numbers.

  5. Be Patient: Healing takes time. Be gentle with yourself. Celebrate your progress, no matter how small. Remember, every step forward is a step towards a better you.

You don’t have to be stuck in the cycle of pain and despair.

You CAN break free.

You CAN heal.

You CAN reclaim your life.

And it all starts with YOU taking responsibility for your own healing.

You got this.
