decoding dreams

Hey ,

I always thought dreams were random garbage...

Just your brain cleaning house while you sleep.

But I was completely wrong…

What I've discovered (both through my own healing and working with hundreds of clients) is that recurring dreams - especially the painful ones - are actually your subconscious mind trying to PROCESS exactly what your conscious mind is working overtime to AVOID.

They're not random at all…

They're opportunities for deeper healing.

Think about it...

During the day, your conscious mind has powerful defense mechanisms….

It distracts you…avoids pain…rationalizes it away…

But at night?

All those defenses go offline.

It’s like your subconscious mind says:

"FINALLY! Now I can work on this massive backlog of unprocessed stuff."

The breakthrough for me came when I started treating my nightmares as DATA instead of torture.

I literally started recording myself immediately after waking up from a nightmare.

I'd grab my phone and just talk through everything I could remember...

"I was in a dark hallway... someone was chasing me... I couldn't scream... the doors were all locked..."

Just a raw description…no analysis yet.

Then later, when I was fully awake, I'd listen to the recording and look for patterns…themes….symbols….hidden meanings.

And I'd use that information to learn more about myself and subconscious mind…

The results were SHOCKING.

Elements in my dreams led me directly to trauma memories I had completely blocked out…

Recurring symbols showed me exactly which emotions I wasn't processing…

And as I processed these things...the dreams and nightmares disappeared.

One client, Sarah, had the same nightmare for 15 YEARS after a sexual assault…in the dream, she was trapped in a flooding basement with no way out.

When she started recording her dreams and working with the material, she realized the basement represented how she felt during the assault…trapped, unable to breathe, no escape.

But then I taught her a technique where she could use her creative imagination to continue the dream while awake…

She started reimagining herself in that basement and finding ways to escape.

This process was incredibly emotional…

She told me how her tears would flow as she visualized climbing toward light, her heart would race as she imagined breaking through barriers that had felt impossible to overcome.

Through this creative reimagining, she could express parts of her trauma and emotions that words alone couldn't capture or contain.

As she worked with both the dreams and her waking imagination to process the trauma, the nightmare itself stopped...

She used her dream as data, interpreted what the symbols meant to her, and then used creative imagination to go back into the dream and change the outcome.

A powerful and practical method to heal via dreams…

They contain EXACTLY what you need to heal... already packaged in symbolic form that bypasses your conscious resistance.

Here's what I now do with dreams (and teach my clients):

  1. Keep your phone by your bed with a voice recorder app ready

  2. The MOMENT you wake from a significant dream, record everything you remember (before your conscious mind starts editing)

  3. Later, listen to the recording and identify key elements, symbols, emotions

  4. Ask yourself: "What is my subconscious trying to process here?"

  5. Use these insights to become aware of new angles to guide your trauma processing work

Your dreams and nightmares aren't your enemy.

They might be your most valuable healing resource.
